Students and staff of GMSSS 23 A ( NYC ) celebrated Teej, the festival of rain and swings, with a great pomp and show on 30th July 2022. This Teej Gala was a memorable amalgamation of the exhibition and cultural events. Every corner of the school campus was adorned with alluring rangoli, colourful umbrellas, and kites, phulkari dupattas as well as traditional Teej items. Floral decoration of marigolds and rose petals created an aromatic ambience, further enhanced by the fragrant fresh Mehandi being applied on students’ and teachers’ hands by ‘Mehandi Rachao’ contestants. Teachers and performers, dressed in vibrant traditional attire, clicked the happy moments, enjoyed swing rides, and sang cultural songs. Kite making, rangoli making, and ‘ Mehandi Rachao’ competitions were organised for students. Our talented students performed a series of hypnotizing folk dances. In addition, the audience was enthralled by thematic songs and Shayari on ‘Baarish and Saavan’. The event was a great success filling everyone present with exhilaration and love for the bounties of nature and life.

“ Yoga for Humanity”  is the theme of the 8th International Yoga Day, 2022.  The day observed on June 21, focuses on the importance of Yoga in our lives.   School staff and students of Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School Sec. 23 NYC, performed various asanas with utmost fervor & enthusiasm to mark the day.  The day is celebrated annually and lays importance on physical, mental, and spiritual practices which originated in  India.
